New Splitters for the Telect ADF Provide High Density in FTTx/PON Applications
Start Date: 05/19/2010
Telect today released a new line of fiber optic splitter solutions for the Advanced Distribution Frame (ADF™), a high-density optical distribution frame (ODF) that provides the ultimate in circuit density and fiber optic management.
The new splitters bring a key functionality to the high-density ADF – in FTTx (fiber-to-the-home, fiber-to-the-premise, etc.) networks, splitters can help deliver services to multiple homes, businesses or other residences with just a single feeder fiber. This topology is most commonly used in passive optical network (PON) applications.
ADF Splitters bring many key advantages to this application:
- High density – up to six 1x32 splitters per module, for up to 1,296 splitter outputs per frame
- Simple scalability – add modules as needed
- Superior cable management throughout the frame
- User-friendly design – simple port access and installation, with features throughout the frame that enhance density and laser protection
