Internal Configuration
In this configuration, the service provider's ONT / Ethernet switch is installed on the inside (internal) of the home. Fiber cabling is run from the passive NID (on outside of home) to the Telect Media Gateway (structured cabling & Ethernet switching chassis) that is either flush-mounted or surface-mounted inside the home. Within the chassis, the service provider installs a managed ONT / Ethernet switch to provide services. Termination modules are utilized to terminate the cabling and are cross-connected via patch cords to modules that interface to the outlets within the home.
