Telect Media Gateway solutions range from compact distribution platforms for individual units to full-featured centralized IDF configurations that can service a unit, a floor, or the entire building.
There are three main structured cabling and equipment termination locations usually designed within a multi dwelling / tenant building. They are as follows:
UDF (Unit Distribution Frame)
The UDF terminates cable from the IDF and all of the outlets / jacks in the unit (apartment / condo). It is the primary distribution point for all services (voice, video, data) within the unit.
IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame)
The IDF terminates cabling from the BDF and also cabling from each individual unit's UDF.
BDF (Building Distribution Frame)
Primary building entrance for all services. From here, cabling is extended to individual floor IDF's for service delivery.
