Simple Installation
Installation of the Telect Media Gateway is very simple and straight forward. The following are the basic steps for installing the Telect Media Gateway.
1.
Choose locations and type of outlets throughout the home.
2.
Identify cable pathways from each outlet to chassis, adjusting for various utilities in the walls.
3.
Install chassis between studs in centralized location (if using flushmount chassis).
4.
Mount rough-in outlet box at previously identified outlet locations.
5.
Run color-coded cable from cabinet to outlets, secure cable throughout.
6.
Knockout tab, pull cable into rough-in box and coil inside box.
7.
Rough-in wiring. Re-label and cut cable to floor length. Coil and store excess cable inside chassis.
8.
Mount 4-port carrier, then Cat 5e, voicebridge, RF splitters / terminations, and other misc modules in the chassis.
9.
Segregate and organize cable. Utilize the many-tie down locations to segregate and organize cable.
10.
Terminate cables at the cabinet, using color-coding and numerical sequencing. Trim excess.
11.
Terminate cables at each outlet jack, using color-coding and numerical sequencing. Trim excess.
12.
Connect patch cords to appropriate locations based on number and color.
